Ban him, please.

Hippy- 05-27-2005

Oh there is one i didnt know.

unknown_entity- 05-29-2005

OMG! Another priceless quote for my profile! Hippy is pissing you all off so much that your saying awesome stuff. "Hexi, ban this fool, please, for the love of god!! Before he ruins any more of the forum with his innane ... I can't even call it 'banter'." I <3 you Atomic...in a you trolling bastid kinda way :P

Lege- 05-30-2005

Back to the topic. We don't need an another Hippy on the forums, derailing every possible thread there is. This is a serious forum and 3D mode deserves more respect (so do all other topics) than what's it getting right now.

unknown_entity- 06-03-2005

Sorry, but I could not resist. Back on topic: this is simply genious...I applaud your efforts to make IVAN even more secksy.

It's great... In fact, it uhhh... Adds another dimension? Nah... No way. I think it would be nice to add an indicator of direction i.e above the minimap. I would help with diagonal movement for beginners.

Revival...but...this IS the only 3D mode thread

Somagu- 10-19-2005

Revival indeed.... 3d mode is awsome and everyone should go get it, NOW!

Atomic- 10-20-2005

I wouldn't call this a revival. I wouldn't call posting in ANY thread here as a revival, really. Unless it's a worthless post, like "lol". I didn't really play the 3D mode much. Kinda got bored of it after a while. Ah well...

Z- 10-20-2005

Thanks for reviving my thread ;-) I will create a new version when someone has some great idea for it (I don't want to do only minor improvements), or when the new version of IVAN comes out and I'll have to update. (I wonder if they plan to use 32x32 tiles in the next version, this would make the 3D mode a bit nicer too.)

Somagu- 10-24-2005

I'm pretty sure if it drew all of the previously explored areas it would be laggy as hell. The rounded coners part... I don't know, somehow it just doesn't seem very possible, maybe it is, I don't know, but it just doesn't sound possible to me.

unknown_entity- 10-24-2005

Definately possible, it's just a large amount of work for a small outcome. But hey, it's your choice. ^_^

Atomic- 10-24-2005

I agree... probably not entirely worth the amount of effort it would take to complete. But like UE said. It's your choice.

Somagu- 10-27-2005

I see nothing wrong with your suggestions at all. Have a cookie. *gives piotr5 a cookie*

I like the idea of changing the shape of walls, this is a good solution to the problem of invisible diagonal corridors. The character being 1/4 size of the corridors - I can try to implement this, but I am not sure if this would really look better. According to IVAN a golem has size of 250, and human has size of 175. Golem should not be 4 times larger than the human. Doors would be too large. If I dig a corridor, why would I make it 8 meters wide? Why two monsters could not fit in one square and attack together? (I could also try to see if I can use OpenGL instead of my own renderer, if it works then it should make the 3D mode faster. Using my renderer with fractions instead of floating point variables could also give a gain in speed.)
