Very spectacular. Deffinately quite abusive (and technically incredibaly spoily). I'd argue with you on the non-abusive way of beating 050, but there's really no point. By the way, when you were explaining the list of scrolls and such to mirror, you only mentioned 4 items (5, but one was optional). Doing that would be a waste, because each charge from a WoC or WoM can clone/mirror up to 5 items. I've also developed a method for storing crap. It's slightly wasteful as regards to bones files, but basically, excess items that I don't (or can't) get rid of goes in a house in Attnam, who's door is then locked. I ALWAYS buy all the useful scrolls out of the library -- charging, CM, HM, EA, EW, and occasionally others -- and store them there, using them only once I have more than 5 of a given type, so that I can make the most out of a WoM/C should I feel it necassary. Using this method you can end up with all the scrolls you'll need, aside from charging and wishing (neither can be cloned or copied). Using this method of cloning/mirroring all kinds of scrolls and using them regularly you can also develop pretty good INT -- my last "real" game I had 24 INT, which is one away from what I would have needed to make all my gear into mithril. Now then, I have a semi-unrelated question: does the strength of the material that a box is made of relate at all to how much it can carry? It seems that when I harden, say, a strongbox, I can put one more wand in it.

Well I know I haven't made a lot of friends on this forum, but I can't help but brag. I finally beat the game fully and thoroughly. In the past I had achieved a couple of Elpuri victories (well, I killed Elpuri anyhow, I always try to go for the gold regardless) and one Chaos victory that I took because I was under the (false) impression that I could get the sword from Petrus and then later sit on his throne after killing Oree. Sadly, this was not the case, and I took the Chaos victory without even bothering to go on to Oree's lair. It is possible to pretend that you didn't kill Petrus. 1. Amulet of ESP (Lifesaving is almost worthless imo) Yeah, I also prefer ESP, and it is actually more likely to save your life from e.g. Sherarax, since lifesaving does not protect you from beheading (but if you have ESP from another source, you can support lifesaving, or elemental protection in the unofficial version) Zap the four items on the floor, now you should have a grand total of 4 scrolls of change material. Take 2 from the stack of 3, and take the other things such that the stack will be the same as last time. Wand of cloning gives 5 clones of items. Wand of mirroring gives 6 clones if items if used cunningly. Next. before you leave Attnam, go talk to the dolphins. If your intelligence is at 59, they'll raise it up to 93, possibly higher. You need wisdom also. - Raising money: Kill Decos. Killing decos is incredibly profitable, so you'll want to do it whenever you can. There are basically two methods of killing him, the first is to outright kill him with force. If you can do this, great, but there's another option if you don't want to wait that long. Decos is pretty tough and even someone who CAN kill Decos might die to a lucky hit. I've never had any trouble with money. I just sell everything useless I find (e.g. gems provided by Silva), and I clean all shops out of money. But there is no non-abusive way of beating 0.5.0, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. Nobody who claims to have beaten the game without abusing anything is telling the truth. They're simply defining certain things they do as non-abusive when they really are. Embrace every method of getting ahead that you can, and you might win. My method may not be the only method, I've heard interesting ideas that revolve around massive numbers of pets as well, and these actually sound like they could work as well. Just no patience for it. You can define abusive whatever you want (and the devs apparently think that acquiring the big victory is a bug), but IMO if the game intentionally gives you some possibility, you can use it. Phoenix feather limbs are OK. Going to GC with Justifier is OK. Cheating sumo and selling the palace is OK, I think. Not sure about throwing whips of thievery, or pretending that you are weaker than you are (by removing armor etc.), but my victory did not use these tricks anyway. CMing into ommel cerumen is not, because it is obviously a bug (devs forgot that ommel cerumen is not a liquid and thus they need to mark it specially as non wishable). It is possible to win with intelligence/endurance about 30, and getting such values is not very boring.

On the money subject: Mining out UT4 is another relatively easy way to make a lot of money, and get indestructable light sources to boot. A meteoric steel pick-axe is required (something stronger if you hope to cut out some green light crystals), however. The only real difference between ommel cerumen abuse and school food abuse, is that Mellis was intended to give you school food; that it is abusable is something else entirely. Ommel cerumen is not supposed to be wishable (or CM-able), and is only so because of a dev error, as Z noted.
