Ivan's all about choices. Sometimes all choices available will still get you killed.

actually, leprosy in real life just makes your limbs permanently numb, so you hurt them easily. who says pain has to be bad?

Freelance Berzerker- 08-28-2006

Your limbs don't just flop off when your walking to the local 7-11?

Hmm tried ivan again and remembered another little bug : You have to "search" to wait for ennemies because the wait command waits for too long.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-29-2006

"mini-wait" would be nice. Perhaps we could use a new key for wait. Caps-lock + this key = normal wait, lowercase = "mini-wait."

dalboz- 08-31-2006

no, your limbs don't just flop off.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-31-2006

Right, like not instantaneously. But the muscles do break down, and then they fall off, right?

Somagu- 08-31-2006

Funny, I could have sworn you got all ugly and such when you contracted leprosy.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-31-2006

I guess you were right. The limbs don't just flop off, but either get absorbed by the body or are gradually eroded (which may make them seem like they just flopped off from the perspective of a 3rd person). I was just thinking, you know how you can catch leprosy from the zombies in ivan, well can other monsters like orcs and stuff catch it off you (or another zombie).

Freelance Berzerker- 08-31-2006

HB: sorry about that. Thanks for the heads up. BG: Maybe the IVAN game mechanics have already accounted for that. I've never thought about it, always having seen myself as a victim of leprose monsters.

blob- 08-31-2006

Well, leprosy is so dangerous that you rarely go on to play " catch leprosy from me" with other monsters and usually run for an antidote.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-31-2006

Yeah! Heh heh. But B-guy does have a good point. I'm the devs coded player-->leprosy transfer into the game.

holybanana- 09-01-2006

Monsters do catch leprosy from you. They play by the same rules, only the commands differ. They can do some things the player can't, for instance cast spells, and can't do some things the player can, for instance pray. But leprosy is not a command, it is a character state. Every effect where the character is a passive object, for instance a magical effect like polymorph or a state like infravision, behaves exactly the same way for the player and the monsters. So if you like, you could make high priest victory a little easier by initiating a leprosy epidemic in Attnam before it (the bosses are immune to it though). However this probably is not a good idea as you'll get sick yourself too.

you just need lots of antidote. and maybe gold.
