Okay, you want some info. Not much development has been done recently, but we have made no decision about ceasing development. We're actually gathered up in Tampere right now (first time in a year), playing IVAN and making some vague plans about future. As far as I know, a new release might as well come next month or next year. But there already exists some stuff that has already been developed but not yet released.

Hail fellow adventurers! Long time no see. We met this week in hexi's little apartment and coded like in days long gone until we were fainting of exhaustion and the floor and our equipment were fully covered with sweat. However this was the first time in a looong time. So we can yet present little new features. :( Here's something you can expect in the next version, though: Some new special items, for instance the holy handgrenade of Antioch and dwarven gas grenades full of mustard gas. Great damage now leaves scars which are difficult to heal. A couple of new monsters with special effects, for instance sirens and mind worms. A new side quest - the Attnamese Catacombs. You will be able to reproduce. (As a human, in v0.50 this was only possible for bunnies.) More special attributes for to make pets more unique, eg. sadism, masochism and alcoholism. Many of the things above are done already and preparations for the rest are well underway. We try to limit our plans to finishing these current features, balancing and bug corrections and release something after that. Even though this is not much, the Ivan community deserves to get something new after such a long time after the last release. We'll also look into the programming section of these forums at some point and check if there's something good enough for the official version. Some small things have already been added, at least a couple of items made by Atomic. Our version seems also very stable. I and Hex played about ten hours and Kahvi maybe five, and there were no crashes or other great bugs. I played another ten hours at home later and only one crash occurred, trying to wear a Decos Bananas ad shirt. Btw, Hex got 66000 and I 41000 score during the meeting. At home I won the game by Elpuri victory and got 100000 score. So the easiest main quest is at least beatable without any abuse. Others will probably be almost impossible as before, but this is as it should be. :twisted: Btw again, a gigantic wall-crashing invisible master dark frog doing 25-50 damage a hit is quite an opponent if you have no ESP and only 130 HP. :?

I found that the in-development version from CVS crashes when one of the new weapons rots away.

i cant believe my eyes ! they really all are alive ! And dev is really going on ! This is a dream becoming true ! I want to reproduce ! All this activity lately... with all of the usual forumers, the devs coming back and the spambots , i can proudly announce we got our highest numbers of users ever online on this forum with the AWESOME score of 31 the 15th august !

I'm salivating like a hyperactive dark frog. Can't wait to get this new release.
