Hmm. I rarely have issues with leprosy after the first few levels. Once you reach a certain power threshold zombies don't spawn so much, and by then you're strong enough to take them out before they can infect you in most cases. Orcs, of course, also carry the disease in many cases, so yeah. Don't eat them.

Do you only get leprosy from getting hit and eating leprose corpses? Maybe I get it from proximity. I'm sure tramping around a large dungeon on top of dead zombies for several hours could be a source of infection. Anyhow, the "valpurium cure" fixed that pretty nicely.

If you hang out with LIVE zombies, yes, you will get leprosy. But once their dead, you have to eat the corpse to get the disease. AFAIK anyway.

I all I know is that there is this one level (GC6) I think which is infested with dark archmages and necromancers of every stripe. The minute I kill them and their undead ilk, a lone necromancer spawns on the other side of the screen and starts the whole bloody thing over again. These muthas' are worse than magic mushrooms! Anyone, I suspect that even if they don't hit me, it's like swimming in a river of AIDS-infested blood.

Anyone know how to up the spawn rate of all monsters?

That last question should have been posted in the programming section. I suspect there's an answer for that there already :P

to get through the necro-level, get yourself some pets, and go through the whole place once to ensure no more monsters spawn. the pets should lure some zombies away from you, and you will have an easier time killing all the necromancers.

That's a great idea. I've been hogging all the XP for myself up to this point and have just told any pets I meet to mind their own business.

so you're a powergamer of sorts, eh?

Freelance Berzerker- 07-03-2006

I suppose. I just enjoy using exploits because they allow me to play the game in a way that was not intended.

To get lobhse to spawn, change her "CanBeGenerated" property to true in char.dat. She's near the end of the file. If you want more monsters, go into dungeon.dat and find the entry for the dungeon you want to have more foes in. You probably want to go into ELPURI_CAVE and LevelDefault under that. I'll explain the relevant properties. DifficultyBase -- difficulty modifier. The game figures out how hard monsters are by simulating a combat between you and the monster, and spawns them if their difficulty for you to defeat is close to this amount. Don't ask me the specifics, I'm not sure even the devs are sure how this works. DifficultyDelta -- amount to add to the difficulty every time you go down a level. MonsterAmountBase -- number of monsters to spawn on entry to the dungeon MonsterAmountDelta -- added to MonsterAmountBase each time you go deeper in the dungeon. MonsterGenerationIntervalBase -- how many game ticks pass before the dungoen will spawn a new monster somewhere in it. This is probably the one you want to fiddle with. MonsterGenerationIntervalDelta -- added to the MonsterGenerationIntervalBase every time you go deeper in the dungeon. Note that this one should actually be negative, so monsters spawn more. Also note that you really should make sure the two of them together don't get to 0 or something crazy, because no good could possibly come of it. Finally, if you just want to have a brawl with all the named monsters, go into dungeon.dat and add an entry like this: Level 8; { LevelMessage = "Hooray! You're a massochist!"; Square, Random; { Character = lobse; } Square, Random; { Character = darkmage(ARCH_MAGE); } Square, Random; { Character = kobold(PATRIARCH); } } I don't claim that I got the syntax on that right. It's been a long time.

nice! 8) now I get myself killed in an infinite number of ways!

Du-ude Squash, You're my hero. I didn't see this post until today for some reason. Anyhow, THANK YOU THANK YOU for the great info. I've been working the game with the same character for about a month now (trying to get kicking up to level 65 and see what kind of badness I can inflict; right now it's already freaking hysterical that when a baddie breaks my weapon I just disarm myself and proceed to dismember him or her with my bare-level-65-Bruce-Lee hands of total death), and will get cracking on script tonight to put all the baddies in one room as you have suggested. I fought 3 Ur-Khans the day before yesterday and that was pretty fun. Golgor Dhan FINALLY showed up but was such a darn pushover. We'll see how Sherarix takes later on tonight. Anyhow, thanks dude.
