It's acting just like the forum, one day it happily slashing away in the dungeons, the next it's getting slayed by mystic frogs.

I just wanted to point out that not only did the crash of the forum not stop the spambots it must of spawned them, because the next 40 topics are all spam.

Well other forums are getting the spam too, pretty much any forum using phpbb.

Also I've given up on keeping the forum clear of forum, which is mostly what was preventing us from having 3000 spam topics. I don't think the volume of spam traffic has increased (too much), just the removal of it has stopped and thus, accumulation.

Over at the new forums? You're right, these forums seem quite dead. The spam represents the scavengers feeding on the carcass. Edit: I've checked the new forums. There hasn't been any activity either for a couple of days. I understand your worry now.
