Seeing it took me one year to start any fan art for this excellent game, this topic might be promised a horrible and violent death at anytime. However, this is the place where I ( and anybody else who wants to ) will post my fan arts. Comments are welcome and encouraged. I need your opinion to get better. Here is Sherarax, the mistress queen. Not finished yet. Its quite hard to tell how a character is from a 10x10 pack of pixel or so. If anyone think i'm quite wrong with her, he can go to h... i mean please tell me, i'd really like to have THE sherarax. Not just a hot girl with whips. Btw, I know she has a golden hairbrush on the sprite but left it aside on purpose. I would especially like to have the advice from YOU, the devs. i wouldnt want to spread a wrong vision of your characters. Ok now. Here's an orc. And here's mirthful's thought. I'll ask Juhani Kahvi, our artist, to check this topic. Alas, he is in the process of moving now and hasn't been to IRC lately. He may have good advice about the outlook of our bosses. And most of all the vocabulary to describe his vision. I find it that there's something wrong with the face of Sherarax, but can't really describe what. Maybe I thought of all mistresses as malevolent asian chicks with piercings, since they have anime cosplay like hair and are sadomasochists which in the current version beat the crap out of each other with their whips. You could also use paper without grid, as it seems to harm her face's beauty. If you add any background, she could also be somewhat transparent, as Sherarax in the game is permanently invisible. Your orcs are perfect. Keep up the good work.

Great! I had already in mind to give a more badass look to her face, but it was already 3am when i stopped :) An asian face shouldnt be too hard to change. For the transparency, is it an object which makes her invisible, or is it a mutation she had or is it representing the fact that she can hides perfectly ? A basic general transparancy would give bad result i think. i'll test with only skin ( not clothes ) transparent maybe. Invisible man style. Or with gradient transparency. Wont make any change before i get your report from juhani anyway :) About the background , my idea was to make a big photo of all major characters - or at least the ones i prefer - so it will just be plain color on the back for some time. The next ones in line are the enner beast, vladimir, ivan, xinroch , genetrix and lobh-se. Need some big help on the enner, very difficult to figure this character about how much human or monster he is ( he has black hair apparently ? )

Her invisibility is intrinsic, ie. a permanent state that does not require an item, probably achieved by powerful magic. The player sometimes gets it from fountains. (Due to an accidentally introduced feature, it may also be achieved by emptying something like seven to ten wands of invisibility to a character. Maybe that's how Raxy got it?) I deeply encourage your group portrait plan. Kahvi has drawn Ivan many times though. I can't find any picture from his home page ( http://www.tuukkavirtaperko.net ) that certainly represents him, though. Enner beast is about 50% human and 50% monster. Which monster, I'm not entirely sure. But I certainly don't want to meet it.

Sherarax is nice! I've noticed that there is quite a big difference between her picture (both blob's and Juhani's) and equipment, since she actually wears: - a golden amulet of life saving - a spider silk cloak - angel hair armor - a dragon hide belt - her whips are of spider silk, only their handles are of blue and red precious stones - a red (ruby) ring (with white stone) on right hand, and a mithril ring on left hand - phoenix feather gauntlets - dragon hide boots Why doesn't she wear any headgear? Since she is a queen, she should wear a crown. (Maybe implement an additional item - a crown - which can be received only by wishing or from some of uniques, and the player could keep them as souvenirs from killing them).

HB, are you saying that players can acquire permanent, intrinsic invisibility (?!)

I got permanent levitation once, with the help of magic mushroom gas, so if thats possibile, then you could probably get permanent invisibility.

Are you sure it was permanent? How long did it last?

I dont think you can get permanent thing with mushrooms. more like fountains like said holy. And this is the art thread :p And im not gonna let this one become another topic about jellyfish, santa claus, or hunger in the world. Just being precautious :p
