Ooooh, I So want to see the Alice -level! It'd fit the game perfectly! A magic world under ground... Though, as I reckon, it'd have to be quite open compared to the normal maze-like levels, right? Well, the zombie level is there, so why not a town/countryside? I kind of like the idea of the thieves' quild too. But there's something that doesn't seem right... Something like it would not fit in the games atmosphere, perhaps? I'm not sure, other peoples opinion? Man, I want to be a developer of this game, if I just could do these things into reality...

Ah, see, but, take a look at this! Attnam - city of order (totalitarianist city) terrain: evergreen forest alignment: order, death, self, man Hog - city of gurus (greece philosopher town) terrain: leafy forest alignment: order, life, others, nature Lunethia - elven city (somewhat like Lothl¢rien) terrain: leafy forest alignment: order, others, nature Mondedr - city of thieves and assassins (like Ankh-Morpork) terrain: swamp alignment: chaos, death, self, man Rihajab - desert city (like medieval Bagdad) terrain: desert alignment: order, man Kharaz-Arad - dwarven city (inside rock) terrain: mountains alignment: order, self, man Urok - city of barbarians terrain: steppe alignment: chaos, death, self, nature Athvalia - amazon city terrain: jungle alignment: order, death, nature Bazaria - trader city terrain: coast, river delta alignment: order, life, self, man Irinox - city of witches and shamans (like Kalevala's Pohjola) terrain: tundra alignment: order, death, self, nature Thanks, Atomic, for showing me this, I didn't know there was already an assassin's town planned.

That's pretty impressive, Somagu. I didn't think the developers were that ambitious from the very beginning. So the world map was originally meant to include several cities, each with a different theme. And note too the different degrees of alignment: life, nature, self, etc.; that sounds intriguing. I wonder what the alignment system would've looked like in the game had it been implemented in such fashion. I suspect the main quest was also supposed to be longer and more involving. Are there by chance any notes left of such plans?

Somagu- 11-10-2006

Well, seeing that, and then seeing that the latest stable version is 0.50/0.60, I would think this is hardly a full release, more of a beta, which developed a considerable fanbase.

Duraiken- 11-10-2006

Hmmm... So does that mean that each town has a quest you can fulfill on par with the "Get to Attnam and deliver this message," quest from Decos and the "Bring me Elpuri's Head," quest from Attnam? Also, will there be any more chaos-aligned towns? I only noticed two, the barbarian city and the Assassin/thief city. As for Jason-is/is not-a-zombie, that seemed like the most consistent description. Movie six seems to be when he becomes a zombie or a zombie-like being, and I don't know what to make Jason after movie seven. 8 was Manhatten, 9 was Jason Goes Goes to Hell, and Jason X and Freddy Vs. Jason were made more or less at the same time. All four movies seem to ignore one another though. In 8, Jason was killed by toxic waste, seemingly reverting to a child-form before dissolving, in 9 it was revealed that Jason's essence essentially concealed in a parasitic little beast in his heart (He was a body jumper in 9, reverting to his true form when he jumped into the dead body of a blood relative,) and that he was killed by a blood relative stabbing him with a special knife that sucked him into hell (the knife was never mentioned in any of the previous or following movies.) In X it is simply assumed that he was never killed, instead captured by the military; he survived at the end so commenting on his nature there is pointless since they never dwelved into it, merely stated that he had incredible regenerative abilities. In F. Vs J., Freddy seems to simply revive him with no real explanation as to how; it is also shown that he can apparently sleep, whiich should only be possibly if he is alive, something none of the previous movies allude to. Aye, sorry, It's just that those inconsistencies have always kind of annoyed me. Anyway, your guess is as good as mine for what Jason would count as, though I guess the top choices would be parasite capable of enhancing host, powerful zombie or some other type of undead. I still think a Named puppy would be neat, though I can't think of any candidates. Scooby Doo and Scrappy doo? Feh. Hmmm... Would a twisted Robin Hood and his merry men be a good variation for Mondedr? Hmmm... Since there's a zombie what about a were level, with other types of weres, and a few named weres (or myabe just one Unique boss were.) What about a circus level? Clowns, acrobats, the human (or not in this case?,) cannonball, the lion tamer complete with lions, the freak show with assorted freaks, maybe an elephant. Possibly the Ringmaster as boss. What else is in a circus? The only other idea I've got is a prison level but I can't come up with any details. Ah well, I guess I'm dry for the night. I'll look through my eccletic collection of books and other stories to see if I can find anything that would make a good translation to IVAN, be it levels, Named baddies, common enemies, or whatever else I can find.

Somagu- 11-10-2006

I honestly don't want to read anything about Jason X right now, that movie was shit... In fact, all of the movies past 7 were shit, utter and total garbage. I do like that circus idea though.

In fact, most roguelikes, save the oldest, are in beta stage. And despite that, they provide more complex gameplay than many completed games.

The named puppy should be Shea the Pitbull Puppy. Thats the name of my dog. :D She's not a puppy anymore. Special abilities should include farting, stealing all your food (and anything edible), crapping explosive turds (we call them landmines in our backyard), charm immunity (she doesn't come when called), when she lands a critical bite attack she should not let go (it should be like stepping in a valpurium beartrap) doing more damage each turn until you escape or the limb is severed or you are killed if it is your groin, torso or head. Also when you attack her block should be her grabbing your weapon and starting a tug of war and who wins should be proportional to your strength:her strength (e.g. your armstrength is 30, Shea's strength is 90 so she wins tug of wars at a 3:1 ratio) Shea is a pitbull cross with blink dog so she should have teleportitis/telecontrol. When you finally conquer her she should become your pet rather than dying but whistles should not work with her because she still won't come when you call.

Somagu- 11-10-2006

A dog.... With valpurium teeth.... Oh my GOD, SLOB, I love you. I love you too, blob. Sorry, slob, I didn't read the post very closely. No offence meant towards you.

blob- 11-10-2006

That wasnt me, that was Slob !

Atomic- 11-10-2006

Damn you blob and slob, why do you have to be such identical twins?

Somagu- 11-10-2006

My bad, no offence meant to slob, your names are just too similar for me to notice a difference after having to read the movie title 'Jason X' more times in a single day then I have to.

Duraiken- 11-10-2006

Bad as Jason 10 was, there are worse movies. at least half the time on the sci-fi channel, whenever there's a movie on, youre either watching an older movie (older than 2 or 3 years anyway,) that's passed through the theatres already, or you're watching a sci-channel produced movie that sucks donkey dick, chews on monkey balls, and blows chunks of an unidentifiable substance all at the same. Now that is bad.

Slob- 11-10-2006

No offence taken for being mistaken for blob. For a moment there my art skills increased immensely, kinda like eating an ommel cerumen chest.

Seeing as how this thread's taken this direction, how's this for a side quest? Survival Arena: Somewhat like the Gladiator games of the Romans. There's an arena (similar to the sumo arena) where you need to win through a certain number of rounds, each round sending a random number and variety of creatures. Prize for survivors.
