A: Peanut butter and crackers. 5 minutes ago while playing IVAN. just dip the crackers in the jar... Q: Should AlGoblin revive more topics?

Atomic- 11-03-2005

A: No. And I would like people to stop responding to his revivals, at least in this forum. It makes my job harder. Q: Do you believe in fate?

unknown_entity- 11-03-2005

A: No. I believe that anybody can become anything they want, and that their life isn't predetermined by the cosmos. Play Star Ocean 3 for more details. :O Q: Taking philosophy a step further, do you believe in evolution? Controvery abound on this one. ^_^

Slob- 11-04-2005

A: Geez, you might as well ask "Do you believe in gravity?" That evolution by natural selection has occurred and is occuring is a fact. There is too much evidence to deny; so much evidence that even the Pope declared evolution to be a fact. Science the opposite of religion, it is not about beliefs and dogma it is about a slow accumulation of information on how our shared reality works, information accumulated through, observation, developing hypotheses, and testing and verifying the hypotheses though experiments. If you don't believe in evolution then I guess you don't believe in the newly evolved multiple-antibiotic resistant bacteria that are becoming a real problem. And you probably believe that the human genome project is just a big charade put on by biologists who are too embarassed to explain that DNA does not really code the blueprint of life and explain the mechanisms of evolution. Q: Do you believe in physics, chemistry, and astronomy?

Groteski- 11-04-2005

Just to add a little fuel: The theory of evolution is in no way proved true. New genetic informations (ie. new properties in lifeforms) are assumed to originate from mutations. A mutation is very rare when an organism multiplies, and only a few percentage of mutations are beneficial. So if you know a little statistics you should know that getting what we have now from a couple of bacteria is quite unlikely. The micro evolution, ie the dog get different hair ect, OTOH, is a fact. A: Yes believe in physics, chemistry and astronomy. In fact, I worship them with complete attention of my puny soul. They are my trinity; the past, the present, the future; the beginning and the end. I have a black altar soaked in virgin blood in my dark dungeon-like basement dedicated to these all-mighty entities. On every midmoon I travel to the haunted and feared black Mount Math to slice dark sigmas and twisted deltas to my taited hide and to have an infernal mating with my calculators comport. I glorify my masters by decapitating every unbeliever and shrinking their heads. Yes their time shall come. Fear, and you may be saved. Q: Do you believe in alchemy, astrology and atkins

Atomic- 11-04-2005

A: I like the addition of "Atkins" in there. :) No, honestly, I do not. Alchemy could be questionable as far as "do I believe in it", but if you consider it as the science of turning base metals to gold via combinations of the four elements (earth, air, fire, and water), as it was seen in the medieval ages, then certainly no. Astrology I don't believe in one whit. Atkins is also a myth, in my opinion. ;) Q: Do you ascribe to any religious beliefs?

What do you mean by "theory of evolution is in no way proven true"? It is proven. ("Something that is not proven" is just one of several meanings of the word "theory", and here we use another meaning.) Not proven in mathematical sense, where we can be sure (well not completely either), but in a "common" sense. It is possible that our world is actually a heavily modified future version of IVAN, which starts in 2004 and where Devs added lots of stuff only to make the world feel more real (just like IVAN has stories about Petrus killing his predecessor and the hero being raised by hippopotams, even if these events did not "actually" happen in the game), and they included a previous version of the game as a thing that can be done in the new version. But the theory of evolution is logical, and it gives some expectations which can be checked, and these expectations turn out to be right. Alternative theories are much worse in this aspect. A: Rather no. Q: Do you believe in the IVAN theory above?

Somagu- 11-04-2005

A: A bit, but I doubt the entire real world will be emulated in such a game. And now for something completely different. Q: Have you ever watched any Monty Python movies, and if so, which is your favorite?

Groteski- 11-04-2005

Yes, I too think the theory of evolution is the best we have. But I intended to say (in my gibberisfh) that the theory is not perfect and that it has pretty serious (looking) flaw in it. So in common sense it is not exactly right, which might be a pretty strong point for some critics. I am sure that some day we will be able to tweak it a little or come up with new data that explains things so the theory doesn't look so bad. I'm just not very fond of saying that I or the theory/faith I support is perfectly right and that I do not believe, I know. The people before 20th century did that, I think, and look what happened to them. And also, people IN the 20th century did that, and look what happened to them! And there is bound to be similar stuff in 21th century. Just... doupt. nooh! my well laid out ansver, gone... A: Damn, it's been a while. Yeah, it's gotta be the Holy grail one. All the references to movies in any place are always to Holy grail. It's gotta be a good film. Brians life was way too long. And I suck because I can't think of any other Monty python movie. Q:My post count is rising like a pile of raisins...... I saw a smile! Now are you a liar and tell me you didn't find that joke hilarious? edited once

Somagu- 11-04-2005

A: I smiled and lie sometimes. (alot) I didn't find the joke incredibly hilarious but it was funny. Sorry about that post thing, your comment was clearly better then mine. Q:A repeat of the first question; Where do you live and what's it like there.

blob- 11-04-2005

A: awww. So, i live in north france for studies... ( im from Paris originally ) The "town" is called valenciennes. And well. It kinda looks like shit. The big one. I read in books there's something in the world called sun but i havent seen it for years. When you need a shower: just step outside your house. The trees are dead, the people there look like a mix between tim burton's creature and robots, and wolves hunts freely in the city at night ( which means all day ). Ok i lied about wolves. Still, almost got myself beaten up by some of the agressive inhabitants out there. Q: Do you live in such a cool place too ?

Drago^- 11-05-2005

A: No, but I live somehow cool place too here in finland. In summer you melt, bugs eat you or drink all your blood and ants bite you to death. In wintertime you freeze to death allmost in the house, it snows realy much and dark come realy early. Well I dont go out realy much... Only when I must (running in hard rain to cellar to get cola) and in wintertime I wrap to coverlet or two so i dont freeze to death. Q: Have youever tried to drink anything with you nose? (I drank Coca-cola with my nose :D)

AlGoblin- 11-06-2005

I see you too live by the Baltic :D. My weather is ridicoulusly hilarious. A: Yes, my friend once drank (is this correct, "drank"?) tea and he made it (it goes to the mouth and GULP). Then I tried. Oh Jesus Christ the table cover... I don't understand how 60ml can spill on the table THAT BRUTALLY. Q: How many and which languages do you know (even 'minor' knowledge)? i.e I know and speak : Polish, English, Russian, German, Esperanto.

Atomic- 11-06-2005

A: English fluently, of course, seeing as I live in the USA. A random spattering of Spainish words, but not enough to create a full sentance beyond "No megusa" and such. French, to an extent, though I havn't used it in a couple years and was never all that great at it in the first place. And... hmm. Does Pig Latin count? Q: Warrior, Thief, Mage, or Cleric?

blob- 11-07-2005

A: I always go for warrior-mage if i can. I just love to be able to somewhat fight with a good sword and then retreat to cast a slow spell or stuff. I hate it when gameplay gets repetitive ( e.g : dumb warriors just going and hitting ). Sadly, warrior-mage are rarely possible to create and usually they are crap. Q: Are you a geek ? Why ?
