The Flies! The Pure Horror!
Hello Community! I've just started playing IVAN and it's spectacular! I have one question as of right now. . .Strangely, I found a ommel bone plate mail in the first level of the underwater tunnels, lol. It's really awesome, but I seem to be swarmed by flies. (small black dots anyway!) Since this is similar to spoiling food, does this mean that my armor is going to spoil? Is there some way to fix this problem? (the spoiling or flies) Thanks!

Yes, your armor is going to spoil. It's a hazard of bone and tooth; ommel tooth spoils slower than bone, but eventually it will vanish.

Yeah, it actually did spoil a half hour ago. . .I just found an ommel tooth plate mail. I think I'm best off selling the ommel tooth plate mail, and sticking with my mithril chain +3. I'd rather not lug around the ommel tooth, and it is probably worth more sold than rotting. . .lol. What do you think?

wear it you can sell it, yes, but it might not fetch a good price with flies on it.

I wish there was a wand of freshness, or a can of mortein, which could reverse the affect of spoiling.

An ommel bone and an ommel tooth armor in the same game ? ! Lucky guy ! Its very rare : / Id say not to sell it but to keep it in an previous place and to go take it and put it when you reach a troublesome level. Even if its temporary its very powerful.

I made it so that you can zap a wand of slow to lengthen the life of an ommel bone plate mail or any other spoiling item in the next version. Watch out for exploding wands of haste though! :wink:

how about casting haste on zombies to make them rot faster?

This works as well.

Of course the zombie is now hasted and has more chances of infecting your character.
