Forgive the double-posting revive, but I thought it would be good to have this sorted out ("this" refers to Atomic's comment on the previous page). Golems can read. Without WizMod. Which both makes sense and doesn't make sense. It makes sense, because they can engrave messages, and you can't write without knowing how to read. It doesn't make sense, because they're golems, and they're not only brainless but dead stupid. :?: :?: :?: You gotta wonder what the devs were thinking when they put the golems in. :? EDIT: How did I find out? Well, I drank from a fountain while exploring UT2, and turned into a dragon hide golem! Excellent! I charged into UT4, which turned out to be a bones file, and even though I couldn't kick down crystal growths, I still beat everything on that level with minimal damage. Including the three crystal golems. I picked up everything of worth, and then remembered this thread, so I thought I'd try reading something, and it worked! That was one of my best characters to date, with a full meteoric steel helmet, meteoric steel chainmail +3, meteoric steel platemail, lots of gems, gauntlets of dexterity +1, Vermis +1, cloaks of fire and electricity resistance, etc, etc. As well as an iron golem pet. All good, one might think, but then just as I entered Attnam to deliver the encrypted scroll THE F***IN' COMPUTER FROZE!!! I tried to load the auto-save but that made the game crash! So I got really pissed because I lost such a good character before even getting to GC and deleted the whole lot - the game, bones, saves, everything. I'll end up playing again... eventually. Anyway, if reading this was a waste of time for you, I apologise.
