Weakest winner
Considering all the talk about how people abuse the rules of the game, I'd like to ask you what's the worst character you've completed the game with. Any victory type. And what's your quickest victory, in game time? As for myself, Elpuri victory, 129 HP and the equipment of Guugzamesh, mithril short swords +2 and mithril chain mail +1. Stat average 20, no way to detect invisible creatures, little less than 10 days.

you say weakest character but then you also say any victory type does this allowus to cheat or not? its not really cheating right now because your game lets us

Somagu- 08-25-2006

No, it's still cheating, because you have to make the choice to activate it. What am I even SAYING? Of COURSE it's cheating, why would it not be?

Freelance Berzerker- 08-25-2006

Are you guys talking about Wizard Mode?

Somagu- 08-25-2006

I dunno, but I'm guessing that's what Lars is talking about. That or abusing stats, which still defeats the point of this thread.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-25-2006

I, for one, am surprised people haven't started posting their victories. With everyone screaming bloody murder about "cheating" and "exploits," why isn't anyone coming forth with some honest wins? Makes you wonder...

Somagu- 08-25-2006

Because I don't win, I just fart around with all the cool stuff in the games. That doesn't change the fact that I wouldn't be able to win the game even if I tired. I came close, once, and that was with all natural limbs, I don't use artificial limbs, I accidentally did once, and I was pretty powerful, but I'd rather take human flesh then mithril, suprisingly.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-25-2006

I won once, with 400 STR due to valpurium limbs. I also jacked up my endurance to above 3,000 with truckloads of school food. But I don't think HolyBanana wants to hear about this kind of "victory." I haven't used my current character to win because I'm savoring every little piece of the game. I'll probably go massacre Elpuri after I've gotten level 65 in all weapon skills and get around to wielding that valpurium palm leaf. Incidentally, this character also relies on normal limbs. The limb you use actually make little difference if you have killer weapon skills.

I've managed it a few times.
I use the $%@) out of ommel cerumen and angel hair limbs, as well as taming elites for their gear, but I beat .50 before I was familiar with these techniques. I don't view these as cheating, as the auto-difficulty always catches up, and if they remove the ability in a new update or full release, I will stop. I don't recall all of that characters stats, or how long it took, but I do recall that he was armed with two flaming swords, and I got a wand kill on Elpuri after dumping a ton of mirrors on'em and ran for my life back to town hasted, invisible, and teleporting. I didn't kill a single other creature. :> I didn't skill grind, and I know my HP wasn't highter than the 130's.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-25-2006

That's right. If the game allows it, it ain't cheating. I don't even think skill-grinding is wrong, since warriors train in real life. Just makes common sense. So what if my character has level 65 in everything. He worked for it!

blob- 08-27-2006

The only time i won was when trying out the ommel exploit. Ivan and vlad did most of the job there, when elpuri ran at me i used my wands of striking a few times and that's about all i did against him. Im not even sure its me who killed him. Cant remember the number of days. got 80 000 points. Got about 2 legit chars who went to elpuri's level thats all. - Something you might want to test : got to level GC6 with a char who was not allowed to use ANY light. He died because he couldnt find the stairs in the big room. That s about all. No light + ESP is extremely powerful.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-27-2006

"By extremely powerful," you mean it gets you farther than you would normally with a normal character?

holybanana- 08-28-2006

I meant no wiz mode, as you can't get a score using it and you can't really die, so it's not really game anymore. Other abuses are all allowed here. But you probably won't qualify as a weak winner if you have use them too much.

Freelance Berzerker- 08-28-2006

OK, I'll finish my current game within the next couple days and post my score for you. Although he's not all that weak, he's certainly not the 400-strength behemoth I won my first game with.

blob- 08-28-2006

"By extremely powerful," you mean it gets you farther than you would normally with a normal character? If you have ESP its really useful. I havent played since a long time but i remember monsters where not looking for me or something. Its not useful against strong ennemies who have spotted you or against monsters with ESP.
