...to make them aerodynamic and light.

So they pop in the mouth, not inventory. :) Anyway, I agree to the point that a human flesh golem is more powertful than a zombie - after all zombies are usually animated at the point when they already started to decompose, and golems are "created" from ready material, but yet "from a scratch" Yeah, and golems shouldn't rot, beacuse golems are originally guardians. And it would be useless to have a limited time guardian. And I think zombies do not emanate heat - I see them as puppets. But maybe You can then sense the brainwaves of the necromancer controliling them - his spells rarely focus (once again, I suppose) on moving the for example air around the zombie to animate him. So for some stage it should be OK to sense his thoughts near a zombie.

flesh rots. and zombies are made of flesh. and they rot. and rotting things make heat. as for the nec's thoughts, yes, I think you may be able to sense them, but only if you're wearing a ring/amulet of mind reading. which does not exist yet.

Rotting things heat - You convinced me. But do we HAVE TO have a ring of mind reading? I think If Extra-Sensual Perception is being aware of presence of some kind of persona, it might as well sense the presence of some "orders" to the zombie. But anyway ESP should have some big restrictions to the zombies.

Maybe not show what's in there, just light up the square? I winder if that's possible...

Hey, lighting up is a fantastic idea! In a MUD, RetroMUD which I played a couple of minutes, infravision described like 'You feel a large strong heat source near', instead of 'You see an orc shaman smoking weed' or 'small, not so strong heat source' could be rats. IVAN could then show some monsters as an 'outline', for example chameleons and invisible ninja sqiurrels would be represented by an orange ball. Man, this is one weak idea...
