Why the character polymorph?
I was in the cave, walking, while my character changed into a rat. Hp: 1/1 Appeared a carnivore plant and killed me :? How is possible avoid polymorph? and why it happen without reason?

Polymorphing happens for one of a few reasons: 1, you are wearing a ring of polymorph. Solution: take it off. 2, you ate a mutant corpse. Solution: Don't eat bunny, moose or ass corpses. Also, don't eat magical mushroom corpses. 3, you passed through the bubbles from a magical mushroom or staff of wonderous smells. Solution: Don't use staves of wonderous smells. And avoid magical mushrooms like the plague. The only real way to completely avoid polymorphing is via polycontrol, which can be obtained from magical mushrooms (and their corpses) and rings.

And from two special weapons as well.

I'm referring to version 050. I'm not sure those special weapons exist in 050.
