Ok guys. I don't recall or realise we were discussing this topic
[bit spoily, or munchkiny or expert][spoily]
Portable trainers!
Broken bottles are fun. Drop them, take off Your shoes and step right up until Your feet get red... By losing hp and regaining them later, You train END (but mind the danger level!). But there is one even better trainer.
I mean, if You carry banana splits, drop them, and step over 'em It trains AGI, for evading/surviving a trap, and If You hurt Yourself falling, and rest - END, too! Don't believe the AGI blabla? Put a nice trail of banana splits on the banana grower's way, and IF they survive numerous trails or perhaps, trials, check them out with a stethoscope. Shocking fun!
Do You know any more things like this? _________________ Sign of Salami be my guide!

You can use Mellis to get school food on a regular basis, which is good for END training.
This has been discussed before -- Captain Action once attempted to train up all stats to 30+, and posted about it. There was some discussion about training... what stat was it? Perception? Wisdom? Intelligence? I can't remember. Charisma perhaps.
Another couple END training tricks: Drink bottles of poison or sulpheric acid. (Don't. Poison you might be able to survive with rediculous amounts of health, but a bottle of sulpheric acid will melt your head off even if you had over 1000 HP.)
In any case, the broken bottles trick can be tricky lategame, because as of 050 body armor and cloaks will still protect your feet from glass. (Cloak AC applies to all bodyparts, and body armor AC applies I believe 1/2 to arms and legs.) I believe they were planning to make an exception to that for broken glass, though for other sources it the extra AC bonuses would still apply. _________________ "Also, I'm the only person I know capable of a pelvic pary and riposte." -- Squashmonster

Weell.. I'm not sure about if you wanted to know about training other stats, but here I go anyway. I'ts 2:15 at the night after a long day, so please bear with the typos.
Arm strength: Get a heavy, inaccurate weapon and try to squash a mice, or something else small & harmless. More swings, more weight, more training... Water is a good thing to carry around.
Leg strength: Start collecting stones. Or other heavy artifacts anf carry them around...
Agility: Run as much as you can. Is there any more simple way to do t? Remember, thet you'll get exhausted...
Wisdom: Pray to gods? Offer sacrifices? I'm not sure... Read?
Intelligence: Read.
Perception, Charisma I do not know about.
And, I generally don't stat-train my charachters. I might prefer running to walking, but that's just to get somewhere faster. ;) _________________ Muncha! *smack* |

For agility find some wimpy monsters (Giant mushrooms) and get them to miss you. This will work well up to 25ish agility then the stat gains come slow. Every time a monster misses you, your character trains their agility.
Wisdom is trained/harmed by changing the opinions of the gods of your character and scitalking to monsters and NPCs.
I gotta try that "wiff" method to improving arm strength. |

Halberds work great for training AStr. If you find a halberd on UT1, it's not unlikely that you'll have 17+ AStr before you get to Attnam.
Charisma I think you can just chat to people to train, but it's really slow and not worth it.
Perception seems to be trained by dodging as well. Or perhaps by parrying/blocking with shields. When I was testing my acid shield, I equipped two of them, went to UT3 and got surrounded by plants. I recall getting a couple PE increases. (By the way, don't test acid gear on plants. They're kinda immune. )
Also on the agility, drinking any potion will restore your exhaustion, allowing you to run more. Water is best because it doesn't have any other uses and is common (infinite from fountains). _________________ "Also, I'm the only person I know capable of a pelvic pary and riposte." -- Squashmonster

..though I have a faint memory that driking fountain-water from a bottle wouldn'tn't remove exhaustion. Which is kinda stupid. _________________ Muncha! *smack* |

you can train perception by throwing things, I think, though it's VERY slow. _________________ "Think like a madman" |

I've just realized: if IVAN has an icebox (like nethack) you can buy bananas cheap in New Attnam, put them in a icebox, then resell them at Attnam for great prices! _________________ "Think like a madman" |
